
Allen County Community College began as Iola Junior College in 1923. In 1970, ACCC moved to its present location and today serves 17 outreach locations, including the branch campus constructed in 1991 at Burlingame, KS.
The Iola campus occupies 88 acres on the north side of town. The campus includes an instructional building, technology building, activity building, fitness center, student center, cafeteria,
bookstore and two residence halls. The college farm is located five miles north of town on highway 169. Also enhancing the campus are a tennis court, soccer field, fitness trail, softball field, baseball
diamond and track.
The Osage County Campus in Burlingame, KS, is the newest facility to
ACCC. It is located 20 miles southwest of the capital city, Topeka. It features electronic,
computer and science labs and seven additional classrooms. Over 100 classes were offered at the Osage County Campus this last semester.
In addition to the Iola and Burlingame locations, courses are offered at Burlington, Colony, Eskridge, Gridley, Humboldt, Lebo, LeRoy, Lyndon, Melvern, Moran, Osage City, Santa Fe Trails HS, Toronto, Yates Center,
Waverly and Wolf Creek.
ACCC serves these communities through a variety of programs. Courses can be taken to prepare students
transferring to four-year institutions, improving skills for employment or satisfy special interests.
